How to Get to Rote Island

International arrivals typically enter Indonesia through major hubs suchn as Jakarta or Denpasar before continuing to eastern Indonesia.
A common route is:
International flight → Bali or Jakarta → Kupang → Rote
We recommend allowing a comfortable connection window when transiting through Indonesia’s domestic network, as schedules may vary across islands and weather conditions can occasionally affect timing.
How To Get to Rote Island
For Domestic Travalers
For those already in Indonesia, access to Rote is available from key departure points including Denpasar, Jakarta, Labuan Bajo, and Surabaya, with additional domestic connections available from other major cities to Kupang.

All routes flow through Kupang as the main transit point before continuing onward to Rote. Depending on timing and availability, travelers may continue by air or extend the journey with a sea crossing for a more gradual arrival into the island.
Charter & Private Connections
For greater flexibility, private or charter flights may be arranged between Kupang and Rote, particularly for groups, surf travelers, or guests traveling outside scheduled flight windows.
These arrangements offer more direct routing and adaptable timing, subject to aircraft availability and operational conditions in eastern Indonesia.
